Custom Arc Flash

NFPA 70E 2012 requires that arc flash labels be used and it specifies a minimum amount of information that must be on the label. However, it does not require either a specific label format nor label design. This allows for improved labeling using custom arc flash labels.

Arc flash labels must be ANSI Z535 compliant warning or danger labels. This sets the minimum design requirements for the label colors, header and signal word. Other than that you can use custom arc flash labels designed to your specifications.

What are Custom Printed Rolls?

This is a unique DuraLabel product that allows you to use your DuraLabel monochrome printer to make custom thermal color labels – and it's fast and easy.

You send us a sketch showing the custom color label you'd like. DuraLabel will create a roll of labels with spot colors custom printed to match your sketch. DuraLabel also creates a custom template you use on your PC to print your labels. You then use your DuraLabel printer to add text, images and bar codes – usually printed in black. The result are custom thermal color labels that improve the effectiveness of visual communication in your facility.

Some companies are using DuraLabel Custom Printed Rolls to provide pre-formated fields on calibration, inspection and asset labels and tags. Other companies are adding their logo to their standard thermal color labels such as arch flash, RTK and safety labels. Custom Wire Marker Labels

DuraLabel provides self-laminating wire markers in a variety of colors, giving you the ability to color code your wires and cables. But, with DuraLabel you can have even greater customization. You can have custom wire marker labels designed to your specifications.

What is a custom wire marker label? It might include your company logo, pre-printed in color on your wire markers. Custom wire marker labels may include symbols or pictograms that identify equipment or circuits. Custom wire markers can even have color bands, providing multiple colors used for color coding circuits.

All it takes is a simple sketch to give the DuraLabel design staff a rough idea of what you'd like your custom wire markers to look like. They'll create a continuous roll of custom wire marker labels, using the spot colors, shapes and symbols you specify. Consider the result a color wire marker label template. You then use your DuraLabel printer to add text, numbers or bar codes to make exactly the custom wire marker labels you need.

Custom wire marker labels have an opaque area used for printing text, symbols and bar codes. They have a clear tail that wraps around the wire or cable, covering and protecting the printed area. With DuraLabel you are not limited to customizing the opaque area of the label. The "tail" may also be customized. For example, hash marks could be included that would indicate the cable diameter after the label was applied.

Data plates provide information that identify the model number, serial number, operating parameters, QA test results, and other specification and operating information. The amount of detail on the data plate varies based on the product, brand and customer requirements.

Vinyl data plate labels are becoming more common. Vinyl provides data plate labels that are permanent and resistant to most environmental conditions. If extra holding strength is desired, high-tack vinyl has an extra strong adhesive that even works on low energy surfaces.

Metalized Poly is also a common material used for custom data plates. It is available in brushed aluminum and brushed gold finishes.
