File Menu
To select the File Menu press the
FILE key. Use the File Menu to create new files, open
files, save files and delete files.
File Menu - New Option
Select NEW to create a new document.
The printer clears any text displayed on the screen,
returns all attributes to their default settings, and
displays a blank edit screen ready for text to be entered.
To create a NEW FILE, press the File
key, and then select New by pressing the ENTER key. Or
use SHIFT-FILE as a shortcut.
File Menu - Open
Select the Open option on the File
Menu to access an existing document that you'd like
to edit or print. The printer will display a list of
file(s) that have been saved.
Push the FILE key and use the left/right
cursor keys to scroll to the left of the OPEN option.
Press the ENTER key. The Open File Menu is now displayed.
Use the left/right cursor keys to scroll to the left
of the file you want to open, and push the ENTER key
to select it.
File Menu - Save
Select the SAVE option on the file
menu to save the current document. You must save the
label you are working on before you select either NEW
or OPEN. If you do not save first, it will be lost.
Press the FILE key and use the left/right
cursor keys to scroll to the left of SAVE. Push the
ENTER key. The Save File Menu is now displayed showing
a prompt at which you enter the filename you wish to
use for the label you are saving.
File names can be any combination
of letters and numbers, with an eight character maximum.
Punctuation may not be included in a filename. Do not
enter a filename extension.
If you enter a file name that is already
used for another label, you will see an overwrite prompt.
Press the letter "Y" on
the keyboard to overwrite the file. Press the letter
"N" to enter a different file name. If you
decide not to save the file, press the DEL key to exit.
File Menu - Delete File
The DELETE option on the File Menu
is used to delete a file.
Push the FILE key and use the cursor
keys to scroll to the left of DELETE. Press ENTER to
select this option.
The Delete File Menu displays a list
of files that have been saved. You may use the left/right
cursor keys to select the file you want to delete, then
push the ENTER key to delete it. If you decide not to
delete a file, press the DEL key to exit.
