Your K5100 printer can operate
with six "C" size nickel cadmium batteries.
Do not replace these with any other type of battery.
These batteries are available from Graphic Products.
The
first step is to remove the yellow jacket from the printer.
Removing the Yellow Elastomer
Jacket
1. Pull the jacket down from
the top of the printer until it is clear of the top
portion of the printer. Be careful that the jacket does
not catch on the top row of keys. You may need to pull
the jacket slightly away from the keys to allow it to
start moving downward.
2. While holding the printer
from the bottom, grab the top portion of the printer
and lift it out of the jacket.
3. To replace the jacket reverse
steps 1 and 2 above.

for information on disposing of nickel-cadmium batteries.

on the arrow embossed on the back cover and sliding
it off the base in the direction of the arrow. (See
below.)
2. Insert the batteries following
the diagrams imprinted on the printer case under the
batteries.
3. Replace the battery cover.
