Printer Setup
To go to the PRINTER SETUP screen
hold down the SHIFT key and push the DEL key. The screen
shown below will appear. The menu options are: Reset,
Unit (of Measure), Density, Auto Off, Advance Cut, Language
and Print Speed.
Select the RESET option to restore
all factory settings and defaults. To select RESET just
press ENTER, or to exit press the DEL key.
Unit of Measure
The UNIT OF MEASURE function allows
you to choose the unit of measure you want to use for
setting label width and margin. The options are tenths
of an inch (the default), and millimeters. Select UNIT
on the Printer Setup Menu by using the left/right cursor
keys to put the cursor next to the word "Unit",
then push ENTER.
The UNIT Menu will appear. Use the
curser keys to move the cursor to the left of the option
you want to select and push ENTER. To accept the current
setting press the DEL key.
Print Density Settings
On the Printer Setup Menu select the
DENSITY option to specify the density (0-7) for printing
the current label. The DENSITY setting will make the
label darker or lighter per unit of measure. The printer
displays the current density setting and waits for your
entry. Press the DEL key to accept the current setting,
or use the left cursor key to increase the density.
Push the ENTER key when you have the density set as
you want it.
If the printed characters are smeared
or not completely filled in, adjusting the density may
solve the problem.
If the printed characters are smeared,
then lower the density.
If the printed characters are not
completely filled in, then increase the density.
Note: You may need to adjust the density
after installing a new tape.
Auto Off
Select AUTO OFF to activate auto shut
off. The factory default is to shut off the printer
after five minutes of inactivity. When the printer is
turned off, all current label text and text attribute
settings are saved. All files in memory are still saved.
Press the DEL key, if you decide you
do not wish to change the current setting. Or press
ENTER to activate auto shut off. When auto shut off
is turned on, an asterisk will appear. By default, this
feature is turned on.
Advance To Cut
The ADVANCE TO CUT function advances
the label material to the cut position. The default
setting is to have ADVANCE TO CUT enabled. If you do
not need this function, you may disable the ADVANCE
TO CUT function by using the cursor keys to move the
cursor to the left of ADVANCE in the Printer Setup Menu
and pressing ENTER.
Language
The LANGUAGE function allows you to
choose from four different languages. The default language
is English. The other options are Spanish, French and
German.
Select LANGUAGE from the Printer Setup
Menu by using the cursor keys to position the cursor
next to the word "Language". Press ENTER.
The language Menu will appear. Use the cursor keys to
move the cursor so that it is just to the left of the
language you want and press ENTER.
To accept the current setting, without
changing it, press the DEL key.
Printspeed
The PRINTSPEED is the rate at which
the label advances from the printer when printed. The
default PRINTSPEED is unlimited.
To specify a printspeed, select PRTSPEED
from the Printer Setup Menu, by using the cursor keys
to move the cursor next to PrtSpeed and then pushing
the ENTER key. The Print Speed Menu will appear. Use
your cursor keys to select from the speed options presented
on the screen. Move the cursor next to the desired speed
then push the ENTER key.
To exit from the Print Speed Menu,
without changing the setting, press the DEL key.
