A shortcut key provides a direct route to some submenus and options. See the listing below.
To use a shortcut, first hold down the SHIFT or ALT key, then press the second key.

| Alt + Delete | - | Erases the Current Line |
The SPACE key can be used to select multiple items on a menu. For example, in the STYLE Menu, if you want BOLD and ITALIC on at the same time, simply use the cursor keys and the SPACE key to select these options. Then exit from the menu by pushing the DEL key.
HOT keys are represented by a capitalized letter in most function key menus (i.e. _New _Open _Save). For example, the FILE Menu is selected. By pressing the letter "N", a new file will be selected without having to use the cursor and ENTER keys. HOT keys turn menu options on and off. And they also act as a shortcut to submenus. Note: The function key must be selected first before using the hot keys. Hot keys only work in the function mode.
