Timer / Date Menu

The Time / Date Menu is used to print labels with the time and date automatically included on them.

To select the TIME / DATE Menu hold down the SHIFT key and push the REPEAT key.

Time and Date Menu

Important: To use the Time / Date functions you must first set the real time clock with the local time and date. This will lock the time and date into the printer's memory. This only needs to be done once, except for the changes to and from daylight savings time.

Setting The Time & Date

Push SHIFT-REP and then select SET CLOCK, by using the cursor keys to scroll to the SETCLOCK option on the Time / Date Menu. Then press ENTER. You'll then be able to scroll vertically — using the up /down cursor keys — through the following settings. You may type in a new value whenever the cursor is on one of these settings.

Year __
Month __
Day __
Hour __
Minute __
Second __

Parameters

Year Last two digits of the year
Month Number from 1 to 12
Day Number from 1 to 31
Hour Number from 0 to 23 ( military time which is a 24 hour clock)
Minutes Number from 0 to 59
Seconds Number from 0 to 59

Once you have typed in the new date and time, or made all the changes you wish, push the ENTER key to save the new settings and exit. Push the DEL key to exit without saving the changes you made.

Adding The Time To Your Label

Select TIME to add the current time to your label.

Position the cursor within the label text at the point at which you'd like to include the time. On the Time / Date Menu use the cursor keys to move the cursor so that it is directly to the left of TIME, then push ENTER. The time will be inserted into the label at the point where the cursor is located. The time can be formatted or deleted just as though you had physically typed it in.

Adding The Date To A Label

Select DATE to add the current date to your label.

Position the cursor within the label text at the point at which you'd like to include the date. On the Time / Date Menu use the cursor keys to move the cursor so that it is directly to the left of DATE, then push the ENTER key. The Date Menu will appear offering six formats (mm/dd/yy, dd/mm/yy, mm/dd/yyyy, dd/mm/yyyy, dd.mm.yy, and dd.mm.yyy). Select the format you want and push the ENTER key.

The date will be inserted into the label at the point where the cursor is located. The date can be formatted or deleted just as though you had physically typed it in.

Note: Do not confuse the Time and Date options with the STAMP option. The Time and Date functions enter the current time/date on the label at the location of the cursor. Once entered they are considered as part of the text of the label —just as though you typed them by hand. The STAMP function will always print the current time at the time the label is printed.

Using The Time/Date Stamp Function

Select STAMP to have the current date and time—at the time of printing—included vertically on the leading edge of the label. Each time you press PRINT, a stamp with the current date and time will be printed in ddhhmmMMMyy format.

Go to the Time/Date Menu and use the cursor keys to scroll to the left of STAMP. Then push the ENTER key. This will turn the Stamp feature on and mark it with an asterisk. To turn it off, put the cursor on STAMP and press the ENTER key again.

Note: Using the stamp on tape supply that is less than 1/2" is not recommended.

24 Hour Mode

If you select the 24 HOUR MODE the time will be printed in the text of a label—when using the TIME option—in 24 hour mode. In other words 1pm will be printed as "13".

In the Time / Date Menu use the cursor keys to scroll to the left of 24 HOUR MODE, and press ENTER. This will toggle the 24 Hour Mode on and display an asterisk. To turn it off, scroll to 24 Hour Mode again and press ENTER.
