Alt
Mode
Special punctuation marks or accented characters
on the right-hand side of keys can be added to the
text using the Alt Mode.
Enter the Alt Mode by holding down the ALT key. The
Alt indicator on the left side of the display (shown
below) comes on while the ALT key is being held down.
For
example, to type Ç, hold down the ALT key and
push the letter "C".
Return Key
Like a on computer, the 9600Ki's return key is used
to end a line of text and start a new line. When you
have finished entering one line, press the return
key to make a new line and move the cursor to it.

A
single block of text can only contain a maximum
of 16 lines. If the maximum number of text lines
has already been entered when the return key
is pressed, an error message will appear: "16
LINE LIMIT".

The number of text lines that can be printed depends
on the width of the tape.

New Block Function
In order for one section of text to have different
number of lines than other sections, or in order to
apply a different format to a section of text, a new
block
must
be created using the New Block Function.
To create a new block, hold down the CODE Key and
press the "NEW BLOCK" (return) key. A new
block mark appears at the end of the block.

A
single block can only contain a maximum of fifty
text blocks. If the maximum number of text blocks
has already been entered when the CODE key is
held down and NEW BLOCK pressed, an error message
will appear: "50 LINE LIMIT REACHED!".
To
split a text block into two, position the cursor
under the character you want to start the new
block, then hold down the CODE key and press
the NEW BLOCK key.
