Auto Format Function

Auto Format Keys

The Auto Format function keys (see below) make creating labels quick and easy. Select on of the pre-formatted templates and type the text you want into the template. The overall style of the label can be changed by selecting one of the six available style formats. The label is then ready to print.

The two sets of templates available allow you to create labels for a variety of needs—from addressing envelopes to identifying audio and video tapes.

Fifteen templates are available by holding down the CODE key and pushing the AV (#6) key. These are designed specifically for pre-sized (die cut) LabelLab labels. You can quickly create multiple copies of address and filing labels. Use the links below to see samples of these formats. The pages with the templates will open in a new window.

Thirty-nine templates for use with label tapes are available by holding down the CODE key and pushing the TZ (#7) key. Use the links below to see samples of most of these formats. The pages with the templates will open in a new window.

The width and length of each label printed from a template is preset. After the text is entered, various text styles can be selected.

How to select a pre-formatted template:

1 ) Hold down the CODE key and press either the "AV" (#6) or "TZ" (#7) key.

NOTE

9600KI User Notes The template that was last used appears first. Selecting this template displays the text that was entered in it at that time.

9600KI User Notes The label sizes are displayed in the currently selected unit of measurement (inches or centimeters). The unit of measurement can be changed using the Setup functions.

9600KI User Notes An Auto Format template that has been stored in the memory can be recalled and used again.

2 ) Press the up/down cursor keys until the name of the desired template is displayed.

NOTE

9600KI User Notes To select the default setting (ADDRESS-1), press the space bar.

3 ) Press RETURN. The first text field for the selected template is displayed.

9600KI User Notes To select a different field, press the up / down cursor keys until the desired field is displayed.

4 ) For each field, type in the text, and then press the RETURN key. When RETURN is pressed after typing the text for the last field, the MENU screen will appear.

NOTE

9600KI User Notes If the down cursor key is pressed while the last field is displayed, the first field appears. If the RETURN key is pressed while the last field is displayed, the MENU screen appears.

9600KI User Notes To return to the first field when the MENU screen is displayed, push the CANCEL key.

9600KI User Notes Accented characters, symbols, bar-codes, time stamps, and user-defined character images can be entered in the fields.

9600KI User Notes An Auto Format template can be stored in the memory to be recalled and used at a later time.

9600KI User Notes To immediately print the label for the selected template, press the PRINT key.
