Symbol Key
In addition to the letters, symbols and numerals
on the key tops, there are over 
440
additional symbols and pictures available with the
SYMBOL function. After these symbols or pictures are
added to the text, they can be deleted like any other
character, and some can be formatted using certain
text formatting functions.
To add a symbol or picture to the text:
Press
the SYMBOL key. A row of symbols appears in the display
(see below). To return to the text at any time, press
the CANCEL key, or press the SYMBOL key again.
In
the above display the "PUNCTUATION" category
of symbols is shown. Use the up/down cursor keys to
select the desired category of symbols. Then use the
left/right cursor keys until the desired symbol is
displayed enlarged within the frame in the middle
of the display.
Press
the RETURN key to add the symbol to the text.

 To
type in a series of symbols, hold down the CODE
key while pressing the RETURN key. Then continue
adding symbols by selecting them as explained
in step 2 above. Press just the RETURN key after
selecting the last symbol in the series..
A
symbol can also be selected by typing in the
corresponding code indicated in the tables of
available symbols (see above links). For example,
after pushing the SYMBOL key, pressing the letter
"T" displays the gardening category.
Then pressing the "3" key displays
the third symbol in the gardening category.

Accent Function
The Accent Function can be used to add accented characters
to your text. Many of these characters can also be
fond on the keys and typed directly using the ALT
key.
The accented characters are group according to the
uppercase or lowercase letter that they are combined
with. The following table shows the available characters.
