A blank horizontal line appears through the text on the printed label
The print head and rollers most likely need to be cleaned. Here is how to do this:
Turn off the machine, and then disconnect the AC adapter and remove the rechargeable battery.
Open the tape compartment cover, then remove the tape cassette if one is installed. The print head and rollers are located in the tape compartment.
Print head: Use a dry cotton swab to gently wipe up and down along the print head.
Rollers: Use a dry cotton swab to wipe up and down along each roller while rotating them with your finger.
Install a tape cassette, close the tape compartment cover, and then try printing again.
If a blank streak still appears in the printed label, repeat the above using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Note: The print head can be cleaned more easily if the optional print head cleaning cassette (636HC) is used.
Note: The print head can also be cleaned by pressing the FEED & CUT key with no tape cassette installed.
