A blank horizontal line appears through the text
on the printed label.
The print head and rollers most likely need to be cleaned.
Here is how to do this:
- Turn off the machine, and then disconnect the AC
adapter and remove the rechargeable battery.
- Open the tape compartment cover, then remove the
tape cassette if one is installed. The print head
and rollers are located in the tape compartment.
- Print head: Use a dry cotton swab to gently wipe
up and down along the print head.
- Rollers: Use a dry cotton swab to wipe up and down
along each roller while rotating them with your finger.
- Install a tape cassette, close the tape compartment
cover, and then try printing again.
- If a blank streak still appears in the printed label,
repeat the above using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl
(rubbing) alcohol.

Note: The print head can be cleaned more easily if
the optional print head cleaning cassette (636HC) is
used.
Note: The print head can also be cleaned by pressing
the FEED & CUT key with no tape cassette installed.
