Table of Contents - Size Function - Width Function - Style1 Function

Width Function (WIDTH)

The width function can be used with any of the text sizes to make the width of the characters wider or more narrow.

Character width may be changed globally, for a block, or for individual lines.

To change the character size:

1 ) Place the cursor in the block or line of text to be formatted (this is not required for global formatting).

2 ) Hold down the CODE key and press either the GLOBAL, BLOCK or LINE keys.

NOTE

9600KI User Notes This step may be skipped if the settings for several format functions are being applied at the same time.

3 ) Press the left/right cursor keys until WIDTH is displayed. The setting for the text at the cursor's current position is shown at the bottom of the display and a sample can be seen on the right side.

4 ) Use the up/down cursor keys to select the desired width. When you are finished selecting settings, push the RETURN key to apply the width setting.

To return to the text without making any changes, push the CANCEL key.

NOTE

9600KI User Notes If "*****" appears as a setting, the Width function has already been applied to part of the current text. For example:

A line in the current block has a WIDTH set, and the Block or Global format function is being set.

OR

A block has a WIDTH set, and the Global Format function is being set.

Changing the setting will cancel the setting that was previously applied.

9600KI User Notes To return the function to its default setting (NORMAL), press the space bar.

9600KI User Notes To apply several format settings, continue to use the left/right and up/down cursor keys to make selections until you have selected all of the desired settings.

Only after all settings have been selected should the RETURN key be pushed to apply those settings.
