Print Instructions / Tip for DuraLabel Printers

How to format 0.25"x1" label in Excel into a sequence to print

1. Click on the arrow above row 1 and to the left of column A. This highlights the entire spreadsheet for the next step.

2. Next adjust the width of column A to 96 pixels and the height of row one to 24 pixels.

3. After sizing your cells right-click on the arrow in the top left and select Format Cells.

4. Adjust  your settings to fit your needs. For this example make sure the settings under the Number tab are set to Number with 0 decimal places.

5. Under the Alignment tab change the vertical and horizontal alignment to center.

Note: Pixels are different than points 96 pixels=1".

To create custom stocks

6. Go into Printers and Faxes (just Printers for Vista) in the control panel, right-click on your DuraLabel Printer and select Printing Preferences.

7. Click on the New button to create your stock, then give it a name.  For this example we will call this stock .25x1 and then set the width to .25” and the height to 1”.

8. Click OK and venture back over to excel.

To use your new stock

9. Select File and then click Print and select your DuraLabel Printer.

10. Click on properties and under the Page Setup Tab, select the .25 x 1 stock you made earlier and make sure your Orientation is set to Landscape.

11. Select OK and then Close out of the print menu (use the X in the top right instead of cancel to close).

To create your sequence

12. Type the number you wish to start with in cell A1. For this example we will use 101-01-001.

To turn this into a sequence

13. Select cell A1 and click on the box in the bottom right and drag the selection box down to how many labels you wish to create.  Example: For 25 labels drag it down to row 25.

To print your sequence

14. Highlight the cell and go into the File Menu, select Print Area and choose Set Print Area

15. Make sure your margins are set to 0. To do this go back into File select Page Setup and under the Margins Tab change all the margins to 0.

NOTE: Now you are ready to print but before printing go into Print Preview to see if all your settings have been adjusted properly.  If everything is set up correctly, your preview should resemble the following:

16. Now you are ready to print.

Tip: If you are printing large quantities of smaller labels that you wish to keep in order, it is a good Idea to adjust your driver to cut After Job instead of after every page.  That way you can roll labels up and cut them on site.
