Updated Arc Flash Information Guide
With the release of the 2009 edition of NFPA 70E, new requirements are now in effect for arc flash labeling. An updated version of the free Arc Flash Information Guide is now available.
Along with addressing an important new requirement for arc flash labels, the Arc Flash Information Guide provides definitions of Limited Approach Boundary, Prohibited Approach Boundary, Restricted Approach Boundary, and Arc Flash Protection Boundary. The guide also defines Incident Energy, explains the energy level at which second degree burns occur, and conveys information about required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
For quick reference, the Arc Flash Information Guide cites specific NFPA 70E Articles, Tables, and Annexes associated with each definition or requirement.
The Arc Flash Information Guide serves as an important reference for creating new arc flash labels with your DuraLabel printer.

And to help enhance safety in the workplace, Graphic Products recommends printing BIG arc flash labels (7" x 10.5" vs. typical 4" x 6"). These super-sized arc flash labels are made with the DuraLabel 7000 sign and label printer. Workers near an arc flash hazard area will have an easier time noticing them and reading their message.
