Don't Neglect Ammonia Pipe Marking
Oregon OSHA recently cited a national refrigerated warehouse operation for 10 willful violations, four serious repeat violations and 22 other serious violations of the Oregon Safe Employment Act. Fines totaled $740,400. Sound like a lot? No question that is a lot. These citations and fines came largely as a result of Americold Logistics' failure to protect its workers from a hazardous chemical called anhydrous ammonia. But what's worse than surrendering that amount of money is the fact that Americold Logistics willfully put so many people at risk of serious injury and death.
Now that's scary.
Graphic Products is offering a free Ammonia Pipe Marking Guide to all facilities and organizations that want one. It's a smart choice, and it's as simple as submitting a brief request. Just click on the image below: Related posts:

Reflective Pipe Markers: high visibilty in emergencies
What sticks to pipes to identify contents, indicate direction of flow and is prevalent in industrial environments? Pipe markers.
What sticks to pipes to identify contents, indicate direction of flow and should be prevalent in industrial environments? Reflective pipe markers!
Why chose reflective pipe markers over regular pipe markers? In case of emergencies, power outages or low light conditions, highly reflective properties of Reflective Pipe Markers make them easily seen from a distance. When pipes' contents need to be quickly identified and pipes need to be shut down, light from a flashlight or other light sources noticeably reflect off the pipe markers' vinyl top coat, which is filled with tiny reflective particles.
Reflective Pipe Markers comply with ANSI/ASME A13.1-2007 standards for piping systems. They also meet or exceed applicable American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards for reflectivity (ASTM D4956-99).
Reflective Pipe Markers are compatible with the following label and sign printers: the DuraLabel PRO 300, the DuraLabel 2000, the DuraLabel 7000 and the DuraLabel 9000.
Check out the official press release on Reflective Pipe Markers.

Online Pipe Label Calculator
A new online calculator from Graphic Products takes basic information about piping systems and shows you how many labels that piping system requires to comply with ANSI code. Multiple piping systems can be entered into the calculator.
Use the Pipe Labeling Calculator (look for it on the lower part of the page).
The Pipe Labeling Calculator starts by identifying the pipe contents. This sets the label and printing colors. You then can enter the parameters that describe the piping system such as the length of the piping, the number of bends, the number of wall penetrations and the number of valves. The calculator will then determine the required label size and the total number of labels needed.
Multiple piping systems can be entered into the calculator. The results will be displayed in table on-screen. The results can also be emailed, giving you a hard copy showing the number of required pipe marker labels and the supplies needed to make those labels.Labels: Pipe Marker Labels, Unique Labeling Related

Pipe Grabber Pipe Marking Sleeves
Pipe Grabber Pipe Marking Sleeves solve the problem of labeling dirty, rusty or unlagged insulated pipes. Pipe Grabbers are clear plastic sleeves that have been pre-formed to have a tight curl. The pipe marking label can be attached to the Pipe Grabber sleeve, and then the sleeve is "snapped" into place on the pipe. It's fast and it's easy to label pipes with Pipe Grabber pipe marking sleeves.
In addition to labeling dirty pipes or pipes covered by insulation, Pipe Grabbers are excellent for labeling pipes that are difficult to reach or in harsh conditions. Do you need to label pipes that are outdoors, and it is 36 degrees, with high winds and driving rain? Apply the labels to pipe grabbers in your shop. You'll then be able to quickly snap the pipe grabbers into place on the pipes.
Pipe Grabbers tightly grip pipes. If needed, plastic ties can be used to secure Pipe Grabbers to the pipe. Should you need to remove a label, just cut the plastic ties and pull the Pipe Grabber from the pipe.Labels: Pipe Marker Labels
