Improper handling of An Emergency Situation
Make sure that your crew members are
trained to deal with emergencies, and that safety gear is
available for them should a crisis occur.

Fine: $171,000 (proposed).
Reasons for fine: Workers handling
a spill cleanup werent properly trained and werent
wearing appropriate protective equipment.
Note: Following a 33-gal. Spill of
muriatic acid, OSHA cited the company for failing to ensure
that employees involved in the cleanup had been properly trained
and provided with safety gear. Muriatic acid can cause severe
burns.
