Where are you on the path to OSHA HazCom 2012 Compliance?
On March 26, 2012 OSHA published its HCS/HazCom Final Rule aligning OSHA chemical identification standards with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The goal is to have dangerous chemicals labeled with similar safety warnings and precautions no matter where the chemicals are stored or transported around the world.

HazCom 2012 published by OSHA replacing the older Hazard Comminciation Standard (HCS) also known as Right-To-Know.
December 1, 2013
Provide training to employees on new HazCom system including the new Safety Data Sheet (SDS) format.
June 1, 2015
All manufacturers, importers, and employers MUST comply with HazCom 2012 standards. Starting now, new chemicals will not be produced or transported within the US without SDS and label compliance.

Chemical inventories labeled under the old standard must be relabeled by now.
June 1, 2016
Revision & Retraining Target
This safety net date allows for compliance with any amendments made to HazCom 2012 since its launch in March of 2012.
