OSHA announced the Top 10 Cited Violations for 2015. Fall protection violations remained at the top of the list. The announcement was made by Patrick Kapust, deputy director of OSHA's Directorate of Enforcement Programs, Sept. 29 during the NSC Congress & Expo.

The Top 10 Safety Violations for 2015 include:

  1. Fall Protection: 7,402 citations (1926.501)
    Same placement as 2014

  2. Hazard Communication: 5,681 citations (1910.1200)
    Same placement as 2014

  3. Scaffolding: 4,681 citations (1926.451)
    Same placement as 2014

  4. Respiratory Protection: 3,626 citations (1910.134)
    Same placement as 2014

  5. Lockout/Tagout: 3,308 citations (1910.147)
    Violation was No. 6 on the list in 2014

  6. Powered Industrial Trucks: 3,004 citations (1910.178)
    Violation was No. 5 on the list in 2014

  7. Ladders: 2,732 citations (1926.1053)
    Same placement as 2014

  8. Electrical–Wiring Methods: 2,624 citations (1910.305)
    Same placement as 2014

  9. Machine Guarding: 2,540 citations (1910.212)
