Beaverton, Oregon – Toys were spilling over collection barrels this year as the spirit of the holidays once again overtook employees at Graphic Products, a global leader in visual communication solutions for compliance and safety. For a second year, employees beat their own donation record. In a heated ugly sweater competition among departments, 578 toys were brought in for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, surpassing 2017’s record of 437 toys.
“This was the most successful drive ever. The competition was fierce,” said Christine Torres, public relations specialist at Graphic Products. “It truly fills our hearts to be able to provide new toys, games, clothes, and other items to children who are in the hospital this time of year.”
Equally divided into teams, the goal was to gather the most toys, with the losing team succumbing to wearing ugly holiday sweaters chosen at random. Graphic Products employees have partaken in supporting local organizations for years, with the previous five years of donations going to Toys for Tots.
